Bad plastic surgery is often not a matter of a bad surgery itself. Often the surgery was successful from a medical and aesthetic point of view but as long the results don't look natural then it doesn't look too good as well.
Sometimes things just go wrong. Every surgery has risks. There can be known and unknown side effects and complications. It's a statistical fact that these things happen. Even a top surgeon can't produce top results all time. All you can do is to reduce the risks as much as possible in advance of the surgery.
You can also talk about bad plastic surgery when the plastic surgeon is overdoing things, often because of the patient who urges the surgeon to do something unusual. That could be a surgery that is known to very risky or out of the scope of standard, proven procedures. One example are extremely large breast implants or face lifts on 80 year old grandmas who want to look like 20.
No matter what happened, a bad plastic surgery is easily to identify. What is the real point of doing a cosmetic surgery? To look more beautiful. It's the biggest success for plastic surgery when you actually don't see it. When you look at a beautiful person and you can't say for sure if the beauty is made up or not then the surgeon has done a good job.
A good plastic surgeon must also be an artist. He must take the personality and character of the patient into consideration. The overall appearance must fit. The results of the cosmetic surgery must perfectly integrate. If the surgeon just focuses on the surgery and not how the results blend with the rest of the body then he is flying blind and the results could be called bad plastic surgery.
Unfortunately good plastic surgeons can't be found around the next corner. Bad surgery happens every day and we have seen many pictures of failed surgeries in the media. Either there was just a young surgeon at work who is lacking the required knowledge or maybe there have been complications. Fact is, your life can be pretty much ruined if you are victim of the circumstances.
The fact that the surgery is not made for any medical reason but just for achieving cosmetic changes doesn't mean there is less risk. Every surgery could cause a nerve damage for example. This can mean a big decrease in life quality, especially if sensitive areas like the face, eyes, lips or the breasts are affected.
An infection is another big risk in any surgery. An infection can ruin the best plastic surgery. The more blood you lose the bigger the risk. A traditional extensive liposuction where you could loose a lot of blood has this risk.
When it comes to bad plastic surgery then most people are afraid of scars and other skin damages. No matter how good it looks below your skin, if the skin has problems then it won't look good. There can be skin death or necrosis, asymmetry, numbness or a loss of sensation, dimples or puckers. All things you definitely don't want.
To reduce the chances to become a victim of bad plastic surgery you should reduce two main risk factor, one is the surgeon and the other the patient. The patient usually wants and expects too much. Inform yourself what is possible and what remains a dream. Then choose the best surgeon you can find for money. If you save here then you risk your health.
