Things To Consider Before You Go To A Tanning Salon

You may have heard that going to a tanning salon is time consuming and expensive. However, you can get a wonderful tan just by spending up to 15 minutes in there 3-4 times per week. You will also find very affordable tanning packages offered that will fit well into your budget. Since spending the day out in the sun may not be something you have time for, you can still look like you have been.

It is important to pay attention to how sensitive your skin is. I have seen people walking out of tanning salons looking more like lobsters than someone who has spent some time on the beach. If you burn easily then you really want to limit the amount of time you spend in a tanning salon.

The best way to do this is to try to tan for a few minutes. If you know your skin burns quickly outdoors then you will want to start out around 5 minutes. If you can be out in the sun without burning for a length of time then try 7-10 minutes. You can gradually increase by a minute at a time to find out where you should be. You also only need to visit the tanning salon every other day.

Keep in mind that upright tanning booths tend to be more powerful than beds you lie down in. Most tanning salons will be offering you both so you can choose the one that works well for you. Many people like the tanning booths because they can get faster results. Tanning beds are relaxing though and you can even take a short nap while getting your tan.

It is important to prepare your skin for your tanning sessions. You want to make sure you have exfoliated and that you keep your skin moisturized. Morning tanning appointments are good because you have just showered and you can get the most benefit from it. However, you will still get a great tan if you have to go later in the day to fit your schedule.

In order to help you speed up the tanning process, you may want to invest in some great products. Most tanning salons offer a great selection and they can help you to pick the right ones for your skin. Accelerators are very common as they allow you to get the base tan faster. Bronzers help you to achieve and maintain a deep golden look once your base tan is in place.

If you worry about how your skin looks, they you may want to try tanning. Some people end up looking so pale and washed out due to their color that they don't appear to be healthy. It can also affect the colors of clothing they are able to wear. Before I started tanning people would always ask me if I felt good when I wore something red.

Visiting a tanning salon is also very convenient. You are able to go in any time of the day and several of them are open in the evening as well. You will never be able to work on your tan after dark outdoors! Many people find tanning at the salon makes them feel better about themselves. It can even help reduce stress and mood changes that take place in the winter when we don't get as much exposure to the sun.
